Welcome Home
Step 7 Oh Happy Day....Welcome Home!
We suggest you keep all your closing documents like your Final Closing Statement (HUD 1) and the related documents you receive at the title company; a copy of the contract, inspections and disclosures; and receipts for moving expenses or any upgrades and repairs you completed in a file with that year's tax preparation paperwork.
Your tax preparer will want to see a copy of the HUD 1 and copies of any receipts for work you complete on your home each year. Mortgage interest, property taxes and money spent on property repairs and improvements are generally the largest itemized deductions a homeowner has to reduce their tax bill, so keeping these documents handy is very important.
You Made it, Now What?
Ah, this is the time you begin to enjoy your new city! There is so much to see and do. Thanks to our central California location, we are within two hours or less of the ocean or the mountains. This allows you to enjoy great skiing in the winter, a scenic drive in the Sierras all yearlong or a trip to the coastal playgrounds of the Bay Area. You'll be able to explore, boat, camp, hike, bike or walk and drink in the diversity of the area. Adventure and relaxation are available all around you, whether an afternoon, a day or a weekend, you will have many opportunities to do something interesting nearby.
